Update 20090715 -=- I went back to Best Buy today, spent $165 for a Virgin Mobile Broadband card. On the way out the guy at the door who usually wants to see my receipt smiles and waves, I smile back or first.
There was the ankle biters incident. Coincidently I had a couple of harassing phone calls and I disconnected my phone. After a while I reconnected it as it is difficult to get 911 to respond to a call from a cell phone. I needed my land line. While on my way to Orchard Supply to get some electrical supplies I see Best Buy right there and I go inside and quickly close a transaction on an AT&T brand phone answering machine and prepare to leave. I hold the box in my left hand with the receipt folded over the top and at the door Andre wants to perform the store exit receipt check like Fry's does, like others do. Rarely do I ever let Fry's personnel check my tags thusly and I am not inclined to let anyone else do so either. So Andre comes over to do so and I express my regrets by saying No. He comes over and touches me in the process. He gets a look and expresses that that much is adequate. I leave and remember that he touched me. I had not yet been to OSH and I go there and get two Leviton 3 way stack switches and one rain tight junction box in 3/4" and go back to Best Buy and ask to see the manager, some fellow comes out wearing a Geek Squad shirt and I state my case. He goes to the back of the store and comes back with some other fellow and I state that when in the process of trying to examine my tag he touches me and I consider it assault. At one point Mr. Geek squad asks what I want out of this I say one of your new Macintosh computers. He says there is no way that is going to happen. I ask him for corporate information he tells me One Triple A Best Buy which I think about and notice it is 11 characters, complying with the format of a telephone number and only notice late that that produces an area code of 111 which I am not sure about, I write it down on the receipt ask "Are we done?" he says yes I say "Nice day" and smile and leave.
