Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal defended existing gun policies in his state also, saying that if properly enforced, they should have been enough to prevent the mentally ill shooter from purchasing a gun. "That never should have happened," Jindal said on CBS's Face the Nation when asked about the suspect, John Houser, 59, having bought a gun despite a history of mental illness.
