Biodiesel Chemist

Preparation: Elucidating the mechanism of the dehydration reaction of alcohols in HMPT. Completed a research project in synthetic organic chemistry while in a Ph.D. program in Agricultural Chemistry at UC Davis.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

* Ullrey Biodiesel. Principal Scientist. 2007 - present. Began the process of collecting Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO) for the purpose of converting it to biodiesel. Researched the process and began accumulating equipment for the conversion utilizing material offered for free through Craigslist and for sale on eBay. Assembled a pipeline and a storage container. Built an apparatus for purifying the oil using a centrifuge, a pump and a cone bottom tank
Research results were presented at a meeting of a small group in S.F. on October 16, 2009
Part of the process involves harnessing solar energy
